Homework

Dear Parents, we are presently inquiring into different countries and it would be very helpful if students could find out some information at home. We only have 5 class computers and today they were very slow. The children all know which country they are researching. Information required includes population, what they wear, how many competitors were at the olympics, national dish and any other interesting facts or information. Thank you so much for your help. Mrs M.

Nathan Twaddle

How lucky were we to have an Olympian visit us? We have been writing about being an Olympic athlete and wondering just how it must feel to compete and actually win a medal for your country. Nathan was able to report that it felt amazing when he won a medal and that it was many years of hard work and determination that got him there. All middle syndicate students had many fantastic questions for Nathan. Nathan left us with a friendly reminder that if you have dreams about being an Olympian, always keep your goals in sight and never give up. We are fortunate to be Goodwood Explorers!

Our Inquiry Continues........

After a great inquiry conversation Ruma Tui students have decided that if we are to understand other countries and cultures we need to learn more about them. Every student chose a country to focus on which includes, Japan, Australia, Great Britain, United States of America, France, Greece, Spain and Germany. Follow us on our exciting journey of discovery.

Olympics All The Way

Well it has certainly been Olympic mania in Ruma Tui for the last 2 weeks. Our inquiry has been based on: How does the Olympics reach out to countries? How does the Olympics bring cultures together and celebrate diversity? Take a look at our inquiry flow chart which shows details of our journey so far. We would love for you to check back to join our inquiry journey. (Click on the flow chart to magnify). Ka kite anō koutou.
Check out the 5 continents that the Olympic rings represent.
