Listen to this sad Banana.

Hey Ruma Tui, have a listen to this song. The banana is very sad as her friends are being packaged up. Let me know what you think. The link is over on the right hand side. I can't get it to work here.

Competition Time

Dear Ruma Tui. Caitlin is great at posting messages on the blog. I asked Caitlin if she had any good ideas to get more of you involved. She came up with the fantastic idea to have a competition. This is what you need to do. You need to post a message telling us what you have learnt so far. It could be in maths, literacy, inquiry, fitness, up to you. All entries will be in with a chance of winning a prize. Good luck.

Wormy Writing

We have been imagining what it may feel like to be a worm at the Xtreme Waste Recycling centre. Our success criteria was to think of a great title and choose descriptive words from our word wall posters. Please come in and read our poems. We are proud of our writing and work hard to capture the audience's attention.

Book Week Shenaningans

What a great week jam packed with literacy. Books, books and more books with a dash of fairy toast and Milo.

Loving Learning at Goodwood

Dear Tuis, how are you all? I hope you are all having a lovely break from school. I have lots of activities and new learning planned for term 3. For maths we will be learning about some aspects of geometry and revisiting fractions and multiplication. Our running training will begin straight away ready for Cross Country in week 3. Book week is in week 2 and there are some great literacy events planned. Poetry recitals are at the end of term 3 so in a few weeks we will be looking at different poems and choosing our favourite to learn. Also, don't forget our very exciting wearable arts activities that link in with our ongoing Zero Waste Inquiry. I look forward to hearing about your time away from school and finding out what you have been up to. If you have time, please write and share your news. See you all in a few days. Love Mrs Marsh.

Xtremely Good Times

We had an Xtremely good time at Xtreme Waste in Raglan. We all learnt so much about how to look after our planet and the earth's precious resources. It was a very cold day but the teachers at Xtreme Waste were great, keeping us moving and busy.

Shared Kai

Dear Parents, thank you so much for providing such wonderful fruit for our shared kai. I thought we would have plenty left but all of the children ate lots. We discussed how fortunate we are to have such delicious, nutritious food available to us. We also talked about how we were able to provide the fruit using no packaging and the peel was all recyclable.

Soooooo Cute

Luke's mum brought in a very special visitor to meet us all. Isla was so cute but quite lively. We formed a circle to try and keep her safe but she was very good at escaping. Lots of us were allowed a cuddle.

Our Inquiry is Rubbish

Did that get your attention? Our inquiry is all about rubbish and we have been working hard inquiring into what litter we create and how we can reduce it. We categorised the litter at school and discussed what could or could not be recycled and we had fun. We are committed to reducing the litter at school. All in a days work for Ruma Tui and Ruma Kea.
